Socially Functional is a meetup group for programmers that like to chat/scheme/vent about functional programming. It is also known as Functional Alcoholics, which is a hilarious pun except when people see it out of context and think you have a drinking problem. We have weekly hacking sessions at a coffee shop, and bar meetups at fairly random intervals. If you have an idea for a good bar or other venue, post it!

We accomplish this through targeted programs of education, outreach, monthly meetings, mailing lists, development projects and spirited conversation with NY metro area software develpment professionals. Our monthly meetings are held every second Tuesday, are free and open to all.
